Lower Tamar

Coarse Fishing at Lower Tamar Lake

Lower Tamar Lake, Devon EX23 9SB

Lower Tamar is very weedy currently – bailiffs have been working hard to rake swims to ensure fishing is possible. On the lake map swims Car Park 1 and 2 and first over dam are all fishable. There is weed in those swims as they are not completely clear.  If you do not feel competent fishing in weed please do not visit at the moment. Upper Tamar is fishing really well with plenty of carp and other species being caught in multiple numbers. Recently carp to 34lbs, Bream to 6lbs, Perch over 3lbs, Roach to 2lbs and hybrids to 3lbs have been caught.

Anglers have reported catching multiple carp with one angler catching 25 fish in 4 nights. The fishing for Bream has also picked up with bags up to 50lbs and the roach, rudd and skimmer fishing has also been exceptional. Large perch to 4lbs have been caught also. for any updates on Lower Tamar please call 01288 321262.

Lower Tamar is home to 'Biggles', the Cornish record common carp which reached its top weight of 48lb 15oz in 2015
